CDP wraps up annual Train-the-Trainer Theme Week

FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) will wrap up its annual Train-the-Trainer Theme Week tomorrow on its campus in Anniston, Alabama.

When all is said and done, the center expects to record more than 400 course completions in a total of 15 courses.

Train-the-trainer courses serve as a force multiplier, enabling participants to formally take information they learn at the CDP back to fellow responders in their organization and communities. The center offers instructor development and train-the-trainer courses for a variety of professional disciplines, including law enforcement, healthcare, emergency management and the fire service.

Courses offered this week include the CDP’s Instructor Training Course; Hospital Emergency Response Training for Mass Casualty Incidents (HERT) and HERT Train-the-Trainer; Law Enforcement Protective Measures for CBRNE Incidents (LEPM) and LEPM Train-the-Trainer; Intermediate Hands-On Training for CBRNE Incidents: Law Enforcement, and Law Enforcement Response Actions for CBRNE Incidents; and Hazardous Materials Awareness (HMA) and HMA Train-the-Trainer with Incident Complexities - Responder Actions for CBRNE Incidents.

More than 150 responders from throughout the nation are participating.
