CDP’s fall HEC Course has seat openings

The Center for Domestic Preparedness has seats available in its next Evidence Collection in a Hazardous Materials Environment (HEC) Course, which is slated for delivery October 31 to November 5.

The four-day course teaches responders about hazardous material evidence collection teams, field screening, methods of evidence packaging and documentation, and hazardous evidence preservation. Students in the course also perform a number of practical tasks in the center’s Chemical, Ordnance, Biological and Radiological Training Facility – the only facility in the country where civilian responders train with toxic biological and chemical materials.

CDP training for state, local, tribal and territorial responders is fully funded by the Department of Homeland Security to include transportation, lodging and meals.
