CDP’s virtual, online offerings balloon in 2020
2020 was an unprecedented year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
It was also an unprecedented year in the growth of both the number of Center of Domestic Preparedness virtual and online training materials and number of those taking advantage of the offerings.
In 2019, the CDP offered 86 virtual and online courses and recorded about 12,000 course completions. In 2020, the CDP offered 118 virtual and online courses and recorded more than 30,000 course completions.
The center also recorded a podcast and established a presence on YouTube, where it shared instructional videos. More than seven informational products were released in these formats, including four focused exclusively on COVID-19. Collectively, these products garnered more than 11,000 views.
The virtual and online courses, as well as podcast and videos, enabled the CDP to record nearly 70,000 overall course completions (resident, non-resident, virtual, online, etc.) during the year – a record for the center.
