COBRA bays to be improved
The Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) is preparing to upgrade the training bays at the Chemical, Ordnance, Biological, and Radiological (COBRA) Training Facility.
The upgrade involves integrating new themes, with more dynamic scenarios, into the bays. There will also be an increased measure of safety with the addition of new controls for monitoring agent concentration levels.
To prepare for the improvements, the CDP will suspend training with nerve agents and biological materials in late March. This will allow the center to decontaminate the facility, ensuring the safety of contractors working in the bays.
The U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) is assisting with the upgrades, which are expected to take six months to complete.
