IED awareness taught through CDP distance learning

FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness offers responders a library of self-paced, web-based, training offerings which can be accessed anywhere, through a computer or mobile device.

Among the offerings is IED Awareness and Safety Procedures (IED ASP), which is designed to provide responders foundational knowledge about improvised explosive devices and the proper procedures for responding to unattended and other suspicious items. The independent study course takes about an hour to complete.

IED ASP is geared toward members of law enforcement agencies as well as security professionals and emergency managers.

Responders interested in the training can learn more by visiting https://cdp.dhs.gov/training/course/AWR-341.

Course registration requires a FEMA Student Identification Number or SID. To complete the one-time registration process for a SID, visit https://cdp.dhs.gov/femasid/register.
