In the Spotlight: Kelley Blair

Kelley Blair began has served as a healthcare instructor at the Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) since 2021.

Blair's experience includes eight years working in a level-1 trauma center and 14 years as both a paramedic and paramedic instructor. She is currently employed by Metropolitan Community College as a full-time paramedic instructor, American Heart Association training center coordinator, and the EMS clinical coordinator. She also serves as a planning officer with Missouri's Southwest Region Incident Management Team and is a 1st Lieutenant with the Civil Air Patrol/ U.S. Air Force Auxiliary.

In the last four years, Blair has responded to over a dozen major emergency and disaster responses, including Hurricane Harvey and the 2017 floods.

“We must train emergency responders the way they would fight in the real world. In doing so, we guarantee they will fight the way they train,” Blair said.
