In the Spotlight: Angela Samples

A hazardous materials instructor at the Center for Domestic Preparedness’ Chemical, Ordnance, Biological and Radiological Training Facility (COBRATF) since 2009, Angela Samples has nearly 500 entries into the live toxic agent training bays on the site.

Samples, who holds a bachelor’s degree in forensic science, with a minor in security administration, worked as a law enforcement officer for more than a decade. In that role, she responded to several tornado-related incidents, numerous chemical spills involving transport vehicles, and worked directly with the FBI during its investigation of bank robberies and a bomb threat involving an industrial plant. She also served on her county’s honor guard team and received numerous medals and certificates for acts of service.

“My passion is to educate, train and encourage responders to become efficient in their field of expertise, as well as give them the confidence to respond to any hazardous materials environment,” said Samples.
