In the spotlight: Charles “Bill” Reneau
A program specialist in the Center for Domestic Preparedness’ Training and Education Directorate, Charles ‘Bill’ Reneau has more than three decades of experience in public health, emergency management and health systems performance.
Reneau served as a senior medical planner in the Army until his retirement as a master sergeant in 2000. He then went back to college, earning a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies and master’s degree in management while also working in healthcare emergency management.
Reneau entered federal service in 2009, first working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Georgia and later with the Department of Health and Human Service’s Emergency Preparedness Division in Washington, D.C.
Reneau joined the CDP in 2016 as the training manager for the CDP’s Noble Training Facility, a former hospital where healthcare professionals are taught advanced disaster response skills. In his current role, he coordinates exercises as well as non-resident and virtual instructor-led training for the center.
“I love my job because everyone at the CDP shares the same vision and is dedicated to the mission,” said Reneau. “This truly creates a family environment where everyone is there for each other and the students.”
