In the Spotlight: Danny Wheeler

Danny Wheeler has worked at the Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) for about 20 years. He began his time at the center as a driver for one of its training teams and moved to the fabrication shop in 2009.

As one of the CDP’s master craftsmen, Wheeler helps create many of the realistic scenes all responders train in at the CDP as well as many of the devices law enforcement responders encounter in certain courses.

Wheeler came to the CDP with a background in carpentry and fabrication and former students will be familiar with some of his work, such as the subway and rail cars in the Advanced Responder Training Complex.

“I enjoy doing things where you have no blueprint and have to figure it out as you go,” said Wheeler.
