In the Spotlight: Donna Lutes
Donna Lutes came to Alabama in 2004 to be close to family, then found a career she loved at the Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP).
Lutes began her time at the CDP as a temporary employee in student travel, but quickly moved into a full-time role as a clerk. She enjoyed learning about the CDP and the variety of training it provides to first responders.
In 2008, Lutes accepted a role in the records management and archives area of the CDP, which processes and maintains all paperwork related to training conducted at, or through, the center in specialized electronic archival systems.
A self-professed “numbers person”, Lutes appreciates the detail-oriented nature of the job and was promoted to supervisor of records management in 2011.
“It’s been so interesting to see everything the students and instructors do here at the CDP,” she said.
