In the Spotlight: LaToya Harmon
LaToya Harmon has been with the Center for Domestic Preparedness’ Chemical, Ordnance, Biological and Radiological (COBRA) Training Facility since 2015.
A Jacksonville State University alumna with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and mathematics, she began her CDP career as a contract biological and chemical materials technician, then transitioned to the federal service in 2019 as a biologist.
In her current role as chemist, Harmon oversees the COBRA’s chemical labs and helps ensure the facility provides safe, high-quality training to responders.
“I truly feel a sense of satisfaction when the time and effort invested in a project returns results exceeding expectations,” said Harmon. “I feel an even greater sense of achievement when I can help others do the same.”
