In the Spotlight: Rebecca Carr
Rebecca Carr, the contract non-resident and indirect training lead at FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP), has held several positions in her 23-year career here.
Carr first worked as an accounting clerk for the CDP before she was promoted to travel manager in early 2001. In that role, she saw firsthand how important CDP training is to first responders when, on 9/11, she helped make alternate travel plans to quickly return NYPD officers to their precincts.
In 2004, Carr accepted her current position.
Over the years, she has also assisted with the National Preparedness Symposium the center hosts every other year and numerous special training events. In 2020, she helped stand up the CDP’s virtual training program.
“I truly believe in the mission of the CDP,” said Carr. “I’m very grateful for the opportunities it has provided me to serve the first responders of our country.”
