In the Spotlight: Susan Gardner
Susan Gardner has been part of the Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) team since 2001, ensuring students have the informational materials they need for their courses.
Gardner is the manager of the CDP’s Training Support Package (TSP) department, which she has grown with during her time at the CDP. In fact, she’s seen the materials used to support training go from printed handouts to digital files and witnessed the change from support personnel being in every classroom to assist with on-screen presentations to instructors having handheld devices which progress the slides.
She served as the sole employee in the department for a few years before becoming a team lead and, later, the manager, as new employees were added.
Her department also oversees ordering all materials required for non-resident and indirect classes, and ensuring those items are shipped on time for the mobile training.
“I’m a strong supporter of first responders, so I love what I do,” said Gardner.
