Microlearning offerings among CDP virtual training options

To better provide responders with instruction where and when they want it, the Center for Domestic Preparedness added microlearning offerings to its training catalog.

Microlearning takes narrow topics and packages the information into concise products for those who are time-constrained or unable to devote time to a full class. Individuals can view the products on their phone or computer on their own schedule.

For the CDP’s Training and Education Department, microlearning isn’t a new concept. However, the pandemic and subsequent demand for more virtual and online training resulted in its curriculum development team expanding its microlearning offerings.

Microlearning videos added to the CDP’s YouTube channel during the past year include ‘Communication Considerations During Social Distancing’ and cyber tips and fentanyl ‘shorts.’

A microlearning video focused on how to safely prepare containers and pumps for the transfer of liquid products is in development.
