Office for Bombing Prevention

Resources to prevent, protect, respond to, and mitigate bombing incidents.

The mission of the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Office for Bombing Prevention (OBP) is to protect life and critical infrastructure by building capabilities within the general public and across the private and public sectors to prevent, protect against, respond to, and mitigate bombing incidents.

OBP accomplishes this mission through a portfolio of complementary programs:

  • Information Sharing and Decision Support
  • Counter-Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Training and Awareness
  • Capability Analysis and Planning Support
  • Coordination of National and Intergovernmental Bombing Prevention Efforts
