Online version of health sector preparedness course in works
Center for Domestic Preparedness course developers are currently storyboarding, or outlining, an online version of its popular Health Sector Emergency Preparedness course.
The course provides healthcare providers and emergency management officials a general overview of disaster planning and preparedness, as well as information on how to develop emergency policies and procedures, communication plans, and training and exercises for their organizations.
It has been of particular interest to those in Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)-participating facilities who must develop and have in place certain ‘emergency preparedness policies and procedures’ as a condition of participation in or condition of coverage by the CMS.
The online version of the one-day, or 8-hour course, should be available in 2020.
