Realistic exercises will cap off Law Enforcement Training Week
During Law Enforcement Training Week, September 7-13, FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP), plans to hold Integrated Capstone Events (ICE) for each of its training tracks, giving students the opportunity to experience realistic scenarios in a training environment.
ICE exercises utilize role players to eliminate as much artificiality as possible and provide realistic environments for the students. This may include noise, smoke and lighting effects, to mimic real-world incidents.
Exercises are designed to drive students to utilize all aspects of the knowledge and skills gained during the course as they respond to and resolve the scenario.
Training tracks during Law Enforcement Training Week focus on Public Order and Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear operations. Courses offered include the CDP’s Law Enforcement Protective Measures for Complex Incidents, Law Enforcement Response Actions for CBRNE Incidents, Intermediate Hands-On Training for CBRNE Incidents: Law Enforcement, Field Force Operations, Field Force Extrication Tactics, and Public Order and Public Safety: Basic.

CDP training is completely funded for state, local, tribal and territorial emergency responders to include roundtrip airfare, meals, and lodging.
