Register now for CDP January resident courses
FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) recently opened registration for all resident courses scheduled for January 2027.
The CDP is offering its Managing Public Information for All Hazards Incidents (MPI) Jan. 10-15. During the four-day course, students will conduct various public information activities and exercises, including writing messages and conducting press conferences. The course culminates with a practical exercise in which responders will develop, integrate, and disseminate public information as part of a Joint Information Center. MPI is targeted at responders who are assigned or may be designated to perform public information duties during an incident, emergency, or disaster and anyone in a response discipline who may be assigned or designated to perform public information duties.
The Incident Command: Capabilities, Planning and Response Actions for All Hazards (IC) course will be offered Jan. 19-23. IC is a three-day course in which management-level responders learn how decisions made during a chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, or explosive (CBRNE) incident by responders from various disciplines can impact mitigation and resolution of the incident.
In January, the CDP is offering the following Law enforcement courses: Field Force Extrication Tactics, Field Force Operations and Public Order Public Safety-Basic.
Hazardous materials offerings include Hazardous Materials Operations; Hazardous Materials Technician; Hazardous Materials Technologies: Sampling, Monitoring, and Detection; and Respiratory Protection: Program Development and Administration courses.
