Registration open for CDP December resident courses

The Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) recently opened registration for all resident courses scheduled for December.

The CDP is offering its Instructor Training Course Dec. 13-18. This 32-hour course trains students in adult learning, instructor competencies, classroom strategies, communication skills, instructional delivery, use of technology in a classroom, and assessment of student learning outcomes. Lessons are reinforced through discussion and practical exercises, requiring participants to demonstrate advanced instructor skills.

Hazardous materials offerings in December include Hazardous Materials Operations, Hazardous Materials Technician and Hazardous Materials Technologies: Sampling, Monitoring, and Detection courses.

The CDP is offering the following Law enforcement courses: Field Force Extrication Tactics, Field Force Operations and Public Order Public Safety-Basic courses.

December healthcare courses include the Hospital Emergency Response Training for Mass Casualty Incidents (HERT); Healthcare Leadership for Mass Casualty Incidents (HCL); Framework for Healthcare Emergency Management; Barrier Precautions and Controls for Highly Infectious Disease; Environmental Health Training in Emergency Response – Operations; and Emergency Medical Operations for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive (CBRNE) Incidents courses.

NOTE: Each iteration of the HCL and HERT courses will culminate in a Capstone Event, a comprehensive exercise where students work together in response to simulated mass casualty incidents.
