Seats available in upcoming courses

The Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) has seat openings in its Radiological Emergency Response Operations (RERO), Hazardous Materials Operations (HMO) and Hazardous Materials Technologies: Sampling, Monitoring, and Detection (HT) courses the week of August 27.

The five-day RERO Course teaches responders how to work in teams while performing radiological emergency response operations. The course culminates with an exercise implementing the incident command system.

HMO is a five-day course which provides responders with the knowledge and skills to analyze, plan and implement response actions for hazardous materials incidents. This course trains responders to National Fire Protection Association 1072: Standard for Hazardous Materials/Weapons of Mass Destruction Emergency Response Personnel Professional Qualifications.

In the HT course, responders demonstrate response actions to a chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, or explosive (CBRNE) weapons of mass destruction incident they learn during their five days of training. The challenging course requires students to perform hazardous materials operations in various levels of personal protective equipment.
