Seats available in upcoming HMA course
The Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) has seat openings in a Hazardous Materials Awareness (HMA) class scheduled November 27-30.
HMA teaches responders essential, awareness-level hazardous materials competencies as defined by NFPA 1072: Standard for Hazardous Materials/Weapons of Mass Destruction Emergency Response Personnel Professional Qualifications and NFPA 472: Standard for Competence of Responders to Hazardous Materials/Weapons of Mass Destruction Incidents. Students use hazard communication documents to identify hazardous materials risks and decide awareness-level response actions.
The class is paired with the Hazardous Materials Awareness Train-the-Trainer course. Train-the-Trainer courses enable participants to teach the curriculum to fellow responders in their organization and communities.

CDP training for state, local, tribal and territorial first responders is fully funded by the Department of Homeland Security, to include round-trip transportation, lodging and meals.
