Seats available in upcoming HMA, RP and ICAT courses
The Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) has seat openings in three upcoming courses – Hazardous Materials Awareness; Respiratory Protection: Program Development and Administration; and Integrating Communications, Assessment and Tactics.
The combined HMA/HMA Train-the-Trainer/Incident Complexities - Responder Actions for CBRNE Incidents (ICR) class, scheduled for November 28-December 2, will train first responders to identify hazardous materials and associated protective actions, utilizing the latest U.S. Department of Transportation Emergency Response Guidebook. ICR is a hands-on course focused on mass casualty response, decontamination procedures, scene survey and safety, and monitoring. The CDP’s Respiratory Protection: Program Development and Administration Course trains students to develop, implement, administer and sustain a respiratory protection program that fully complies with the laws and regulations regarding emergency-response actions. The combined Bomb Threat Management Planning (BTM)/ICAT/ICAT Train-the-Trainer course is scheduled for Dec 11 – 16. BTM provides participants with foundational knowledge on the Department of Homeland Security risk management process and bomb threat management process. ICAT trains first responding law enforcement officers to successfully, and safely, de-escalate situations involving individuals who are unarmed or are armed with weapons other than firearms and who may be experiencing a mental health crisis.
