Singapore officials visit CDP campus
The CDP on Tuesday hosted representatives from the Republic of Singapore’s Civil Defense Forces.
The island nation in Southeast Asia is looking at improving its disaster response capability and sent a team here to see how the Center develops and executes its advanced training programs for responders.
During their visit, Civil Defense Forces Commissioner Eric Yap, Hazardous Material Director Michael Chua, and Fire Station Commander Eddy Lin received an informational briefing about the CDP and visited with Center Deputy Superintendent Chris Chesney. The group also toured the CDP’s Noble (Hospital) Training Facility, COBRA (Chemical, Ordnance, Biological and Radiological) Training Facility and Advanced Responder Training Complex.
At the conclusion of the tour, Yap said the team was amazed by the Center, particularly the level of detail evident in every aspect of the operation.
“Very impressive,” he said.
