Snapshot: Containment
Students learn to minimize waterway contamination during the Hazardous Materials Operations (HMO) Course this week at FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP). The CDP’s five-day HMO course teaches responders how to analyze a hazardous materials incident, then plan and implement an appropriate response. It includes practical exercises in the CDP’s Chemical, Ordnance, Biological and Radiological (COBRA) Training Facility – the only facility in the U.S. where civilian responders train with toxic chemical agents and biological materials.
