Snapshot: The right tool for the job
Responders in the Field Force Extrication (FFE) course at FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness practice cutting metal tubes similar to ones found in devices protesters use to illegally obstruct public access. The three-day course trains responders to utilize the tools necessary to safely extricate individuals from protester devices, while ensuring due process. During the 2026 Law Enforcement Theme Week, the course included a large-scale capstone exercise incorporating all students.
