Snapshot: Hazardous Materials Operations Training

Students practice decontamination procedures during Hazardous Materials Operations (HMO) training this week at FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness. The CDP’s five-day HMO course teaches responders to analyze and then plan and implement responses to hazardous materials incidents. It also involves practical exercises in the center’s Chemical, Ordnance, Biological and Radiological Training Facility – the only facility in the U.S. where civilian responders train with toxic chemical agents and biological materials.
