Snapshot: Hazardous Materials Training
A student neutralizes a mock material spill during Hazardous Materials Operations (HMO) training this week at FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness. The CDP’s 5-day HMO course teaches responders to analyze, plan and implement responses to hazardous materials incidents. The course also involves practical exercises in the CDP’s Chemical, Ordnance, Biological and Radiological (COBRA) Training Facility – the only facility in the U.S. where civilian responders train with toxic chemical agents and biological materials.
