Snapshot: Hazmat sampling

Students practice sampling hazardous materials in this week’s Hazardous Materials Technologies: Sampling, Monitoring, and Detection Course at the Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP). The five-day offering teaches responders how to use various instruments on the scene of incidents with chemical agents and other hazardous materials. The course also includes practical exercises in the CDP’s Chemical, Ordnance, Biological, and Radiological (COBRA) Training Facility, which is the only place in the nation where civilian responders can train with hazardous biological materials and toxic chemical agents.
