A medical specialist directs an ambulatory patient through a decontamination line during Hospital Emergency Response Training for Mass Casualty Incidents (HERT) training this week at the Center for Domestic Preparedness. During the three-day course, responders learn how to use the Hospital Incident Command System and community emergency response network while operating an emergency treatment area with scores of patients impacted by harmful contaminants.
