Snapshot: HMO Decon Exercise

Students learn about color-coded triage tags during Hazardous Materials Operations (HMO) training this week at FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP). The CDP’s five-day HMO course teaches responders to analyze a hazardous materials incident, then plan and implement their response. The course also involves practical exercises in the CDP’s Chemical, Ordnance, Biological and Radiological (COBRA) Training Facility – the only facility in the U.S. where civilian responders train with toxic chemical agents and biological materials.
