Students use radiation detection equipment to ensure a ‘patient’ has been properly decontaminated during the Hospital Emergency Response Training for Mass Casualty Incidents (HERT) Course this week at the Center for Domestic Preparedness. The three-day course also teaches responders the proper use of personal protective equipment and how to triage and decontaminate both ambulatory and non-ambulatory patients.
