Snapshot: SNS Operations

Students learn to build a pallet of supplies during the Introduction to Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) Operations Course this week at FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness.

The five-day offering, from the Department of Health and Human Services’ Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response, is designed to introduce state, local, tribal, and territorial (SLTT) officials to SNS medical countermeasures, materiel, and response operations during a public health incident. It encompasses how request, receive, distribute and administer SNS material and includes classroom presentations, group discussions, and hands-on activities.

This week’s delivery is the first iteration of the newly revised SNS course and the first offering of SNS since the COVID-19 pandemic.
