Snapshot: Testing for contaminants

Students in the Center for Domestic Preparedness’ Environmental Health Training in Emergency Response – Operations (EHTER Ops) course simulate testing of water and food samples during a hands-on exercise.

The five-day course provides participants with the knowledge and skills needed to respond to disasters using appropriate protocols and equipment. The course includes hands-on exercises where participants respond to scenarios requiring critical-thinking and field experience to assess, evaluate, and develop corrective measures.

The CDP is authorized to award 3.2 CEUs for this course by the International Association of Continuing Education and Training. For additional information about the EHTER Ops Course or to register for future iterations, visit https://cdp.dhs.gov/training/course/PER-309.
