Targeted tribal training wraps up
FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness recently wrapped up a series of virtual training courses targeted specifically at responders in tribal communities.
The CDP conducted the training as part of a combined National Domestic Preparedness Consortium and Rural Domestic Consortium effort in March and April which saw six different consortium organizations deliver 10 virtual courses to a total of 67 responders.
By delivering the courses virtually, the responders were able to continue their education in emergency preparedness and response without having to travel.
The CDP is now working to establish focus groups comprised of tribal responders and consortium member organizations to identify training gaps and other training needs of tribal communities.
The information will be used to develop future preparedness and response training for the responders and others in those communities.
