Work continues on COBRA enhancements
The Center for Domestic Preparedness will soon begin installing vinyl coverings to the walls of the training bays in its Chemical, Ordnance, Biological and Radiological Training Facility (COBRATF).
The coverings are part of new scenarios being incorporated into the bays intended to enrich the training experience for responders who train there.
They’re also one of several changes being made to the facility.
The center recently upgraded the COBRATF’s heating, ventilation and air conditioning and hot water systems. It also introduced several additional safety and security measures at the site.
The COBRATF is the only place in the country where civilian responders train with hazardous biological materials and chemical agents.
Training in the bays was paused earlier this year to allow for work on the bay upgrades.
