Incident Complexities - Responder Actions for CBRNE Incidents

Overview

This hands-on training course is executed in a round-robin rotation in mass casualty response, decontamination procedures, scene survey and safety, and monitoring. Participants review, discuss information, and practice skills necessary to effectively respond to a CBRNE incident. Below are some, but not all, of the critical skill sets learned during this training program:

  • Principles of Mass Casualty Response,
  • Decontamination,
  • Scene Survey and Safety, and
  • CBRN Monitoring and PPE Level C.

Target Audience

Personnel from the following disciplines: Law enforcement, Fire service, Emergency medical services, Hazardous materials, Emergency management, Public health, Healthcare, Public works, Governmental administrative, and Public safety communications.

Prerequisites and Requirements

To be eligible for the course, the student must successfully complete the following course (or an equivalent certified awareness training program):

 

  • Participants should be able to Don and doff PPE Level C, lift 40 pounds or more, and meet the medical criteria as established by OSHA

Continuing Education Credits

The Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) is an Accredited Provider (AP) of Continuing Education Units (CEU) and is authorized to award the following CEUs for successful completion of this activity:
