Overview

In partnership with the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF), this course provides the student with the knowledge and skill required to successfully plan, coordinate, conduct, and administer an ICAT class. The course reviews ICAT learning objectives, instructional strategies, subject matter, and key teaching points for each module and activity. The course also reviews key CDP’s instructional policies and introduces a guide outlining additional policies and administrative procedures. The course concludes with a summary and open forum intended to ensure all student questions are addressed and that student learning requirements are met.

Prerequisites and Requirements

To be eligible to attend the course, a student will possess the  following requirements:

  • Have a requirement or responsibility to train responders in the knowledge and skills of the ICAT course,
  • Have successfully completed and received a certificate of completion for the ICAT course the day(s) prior
  • Have successfully completed the instructor qualification/certification requirements for the trainer’s agency, jurisdiction, or organization
