Kansas South Central Healthcare Coalition Strengthens Preparedness Program
The South Central Kansas Healthcare Coalition reinforced bonds and tested its ability to respond during an emergency recently. The coalition attended training at the Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) in Anniston, Ala., practicing with multiple counties and multiple hospitals from the Sunflower State.
Florida ERT Combines To Support State, Protect Public
More than 20 members of Florida’s Environmental Response Team (ERT) practiced in hands-on training recently at the Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP), located in Anniston, Ala. These first responders attended the Hazardous Materials Technician for CBRNE Incidents (HT) course. Great Lake’s State Prep For Response And Recovery
Nearly 140 healthcare personnel, representing more than 25 Michigan hospitals, long-term care facilities, EMS agencies and fire departments, attended training at the Center for Domestic Preparedness’ (CDP) Noble Training Facility (NTF) recently. These personnel represented six counties, almost 22 percent of the Great Lake State.

Native Americans Prepare For Disaster Response
More than 12 tribes from six states met at the CDP recently. The 27 Native Americans attended the Healthcare Leadership for Mass Casualty Incidents (HCL) course and was the first time for the majority to combine with different tribes in a single training setting.

Training Registration Pilot Seeks To Simplify CDP Enrollment
The CDP has incorporated measures that reduce the enrollment process for emergency responders attending training. The new process simplifies admission steps, decreases the paperwork burden and automates the approval process for students attending training.

Disaster has an influence on thousands or sometimes millions of citizens living in an affected area. Multiply the number of families affected with the number of pets and farm animals that may be displaced and the number affected could grow astronomically.
