The Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) has seat openings in upcoming offerings of its Public Order and Public Safety: Basic (POPS-B), Evidence Collection in a Hazardous Materials Environment (HEC) and Hazardous Materials Operations (HMO) courses in November and December.

The CDP concluded its 10th annual Tribal Nations Training Week today. More than 250 students, representing 70 tribal nations attended the event, which included training in emergency management and healthcare preparedness and response.

FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) hosted its inaugural Law Enforcement Training Week Sept. 8-12 on its campus in Anniston, Alabama. The event brought together more than 160 law enforcement officers from across the nation to enhance their preparedness and response capabilities.

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill.-A violent tornado outbreak created havoc across seven states, Nov. 17. Records revealed this was the most fierce tornado event ever during the month of November. Around 1 p.m., the town of Gifford and other parts of Champaign County experienced crippling winds as three tornados left thousands without power, destroyed water systems and badly damaged public infrastructure.

NE Tennessean Health Professionals Return to CDP

Forty healthcare professionals returned to FEMA's Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) to train in preparation for a mass-casualty incident that they hope will never come. The South Central Kansas Regional Hospital Preparedness Group attended training at FEMA's Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP), during November. The group, 53 in total, attended the Healthcare Leadership for Mass Casualty Incidents (HCL) course, represented 19 counties and 31 hospitals from the Sunflower State.

The Emergency Management Coalition of Eastern Alabama convened for its quarterly meeting at the Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) recently. The coalition was formed almost one year ago and consists of 25 members, representing more than 10 counties.

The Prince Georges County (Md.) Fire and Emergency Medical Service Training Academy attended training at FEMA's Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) recently. The academy sent 25 firefighter-medic recruits to attend the Emergency Responder Hazardous Materials Technician for CBRNE Incidents (ERHM) course. Earlier this year, 15 recruits from the same class participated in equivalent training.
