Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Device Detection
Overview
The Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) Detection course provides participants with the knowledge and skills to successfully and safely inspect for identify and/or respond to vehicle-borne explosive threats.
This is a one day, in-person instructor-led training covering the following topics:
•Vehicle-Borne explosive threat
•Identifying Vehicle-Borne explosives
•Assessment of vehicles and occupant behavior
•Vehicle inspection activity
Target Audience
Critical Infrastructure Owners and Operators, Public Safety Officers, Emergency Managers, Security Officers, Law Enforcement Officials, and Private Sector Security Professionals
Prerequisites and Requirements
Before you attend, the following courses are recommended prerequisites:
•AWR-333: IED Construction and Classification (Available at https://cdp.dhs.gov/obp)
•AWR-337: IED Explosive Effects and Mitigation (Available at https://cdp.dhs.gov/obp)
•AWR-338: Homemade Explosive (HME) and Precursor Awareness (Available at https://cdp.dhs.gov/obp)
